Jin Ju Song-Begin is the founder and Artistic Director of Da-On Dance, a NYC-based modern dance company founded in 2012 . A choreographer, dancer and dance teacher from Seoul, Korea, her work has been presented at several venues in New York City, and internationally in Korea, Singapore, and Japan. Jin Ju holds a Masters Degree in Choreography from Kookmin University and an Undergraduate Degree from Chung Ang University in Seoul, Korea. While still in Korea, she was a founding member of the Seoul based Dance Company ‘The Body’ from 2003-2006, and in 2004 and 2006 her work was presented in the Dance Biennale in Tokyo and twice commissioned by the Choi Seung Hee Dance Festival in Korea (2006 & 2008). Jin Ju and Da-On Dance have presented work in New York at FLICfest 2015, Danspace Project at St. Mark’s Church, The National Academy Museum, 92nd St.Y, Movement Research at Judson Church, CPR, American Dance Guild, Newsteps, Reverb Festival, Dixon Place, and more. Recent international performances include a new evening length work commissioned by the Korean Dance Festival in Seoul and a performance as part of Release 4.0 in Singapore. She is currently at work on ROOT, her third evening length work for Da-On Dance.
